About Karl Holtermann

Through hundreds of residential remodeling projects spanning over 20 years, Karl Holtermann provides clients with big picture solutions that attend to every detail. “My goal is to give a client exactly what they have dreamed of, but in a way that they never could have imagined on their own.”  Working closely with his clients, Karl has personally designed and managed construction budgets from anywhere between $50,000 and $2,000,000.

After earning his degree in Hotel and Restaurant Cooking, Karl completed his BS in Architecture, and further continued his studies at the Ecole Specilae d’Architecture in Paris, France.

Karl began his Architectural firm work at Louis Wasserman and Associates as well as Renner Architects where, through his role as Project Manager, he oversaw the execution of many projects including restaurants and bars, travel centers, universities and residences across the Midwest.

In 1997 Karl entered the world of Residential Design Build and Remodeling; a field that allowed him to express his creativity while working hands-on with crews of carpenters and craftspeople daily.  As a Project Designer for Bartelt-Filo Design Build Remodel, Karl soon became the ‘go-to contact’ in Southeastern Wisconsin for demanding projects and clients.  Later, as the Lead Design and Project Coordinator at Sazama Design Build Remodel, he enjoyed the opportunity to work with a variety of repeat clients on their homes and second residences.

Karl has now parlayed his experience with design and construction firms into his role as the Principal Leader of KHDB. He prides himself in maintaining professional integrity, and providing clients with well-organized, well designed, clearly coordinated and communicated remodeling projects.

In his spare time Karl enjoys remodeling his own homes, kayaking, hiking, and get-a-ways to Door County.
